Fubo and Houston Dynamo Strike Deal

CABETS: Tennessee Sets a New Record in the Monthly Handle and Revenue in December as the November Highs Were Short-Lived

Fubo Gaming continues to look to gain an edge in the U.S. sports betting industry, and they recently announced a deal with a professional sports team. The Houston Dynamo Football Club of Major League Soccer has partnered with Fubo Gaming in what amounts to a two-pronged deal.

This is the first time that Fubo Gaming has formed a partnership with an MLS team, but it doesn’t fully go into effect right away. Legal sports betting in Texas has to be passed before the full deal kicks in, and that could still be years down the road.

Marketing will be a major focus of this partnership, and it is a deal that should ultimately have a positive impact on Fubo and on the Dynamo. Major League Soccer continues to try and become more popular in the U.S., but deals similar to this will help that cause.

Details Of the Deal

Fubo Gaming becomes the official sports betting partner of the Houston Dynamo through this deal, and that could ultimately pay big dividends. Fubo is going to be appearing on many of the upcoming television and radio broadcasts of the Dynamo, and that will help it gain some brand recognition.

Fubo Sportsbook will be in charge of creating some unique social media content for the soccer club, but this will remain limited over the next few years until sports betting is officially legal. Fubo is committed to getting its name out in the state of Texas in hopes that legal sports betting will eventually be available.

Long Path to Legal Sports Betting

Since this deal is contingent on sports betting in Texas officially becoming legal, there are concerns about this deal ever taking full effect. Lawmakers in Texas have made some recent attempts to legalize that form of betting, but there just hasn’t been a ton of support.

After a number of bills were introduced in 2021, the Texas Senate never officially brought those bills for a vote. None of those bills will be discussed in 2022, and 2023 will be the earliest that Texas will ever be able to officially legalize sports betting.

Online sportsbooks will be allowed if Texas is ever able to pass a bill, but there is still plenty of work that will have to be done before it gets close to happening.

Odds to Win MLS Cup

The 2020 MLS season is set to begin on February 26, and this will be the 27th season in league history. Since we are nearly one month away from the start of the regular season, the betting odds to win the MLS Cup have been released.

There are three teams that are currently favored to win the MLS Cup at +700, and those three teams are LAFC, New England, and Seattle. NYCFC is currently fourth on the list with odds set at +1000, and they are the defending champions.

The Houston Dynamo are not expected to be a contender this season, and they actually have the worst odds to win the MLS Cup at +10000.
