The Pac-12 Conference hasn’t always gotten a ton of respect when it comes to college basketball, especially over the last few years. That started to change last March as a number of teams made a deep and impressive run in the NCAA Tournament.
The UCLA Bruins advanced all the way to the Final Four, and there was plenty of belief that they would run away with the conference title this season. The Bruins do look like they are the best team in the Pac-12, but they also have some company at the top.
Here is a look at the current betting odds to win the Pac-12 Conference basketball title:
- UCLA +140
- Arizona +150
- USC +500
- Oregon +3000
- Washington State +4200
- Utah +4200
- Colorado +5000
- Stanford +8000
- California +10000
- Arizona State +10000
- Oregon State +19000
- Washington +25000
These odds are going to continue to change throughout the year, and some teams will drop off of the list as the season moves along. UCLA was a heavy betting favorite before the season began, but there are now some teams that have joined them at the top.
A Three-Team Race?
There are currently three Pac-12 Conference teams ranked inside of the Top 10, and all three of them have pretty good odds to win the league. USC is the only team in the league to get off to a 2-0 start, but UCLA and Arizona are undefeated as well.
These three teams will start playing each other soon, and it will be those head-to-head matchups that determine which team comes out on top. All three teams have also climbed up the list of NCAA title contenders, and each team should play a key role in the NCAA Tournament.
At this point, it looks as if these three teams are not going to get much of a challenge from any other teams in the league.
Crowded Group of Solid Teams
The betting odds to win the Pac-12 Conference really drop off after the top three teams, but that doesn’t mean that there aren’t other competitive teams. The Oregon Ducks have gotten off to an 0-2 start in conference action, but this is a team that should be in the mix to make the NCAA Tournament.
Washington State and Utah are the other teams to keep an eye on as the season moves along because both teams should be able to win some games. There are going to be plenty of upsets along the way, and that should allow these other teams to stay in the mix throughout the season.
Bottom of the Conference is Weak
Oregon State has started off the year by going 3-10, and Washington has started off with a record of 5-5. Those two teams are joined by the Arizona State Sun Devils and the California Golden Bears at the bottom of the Pac-12 Conference odds list.
With so much parity in college basketball, these four teams could all pull off an upset at any point in the season. These teams aren’t going to win the conference, but they could play their way into the middle of the pack.
