The 2022 NFL season could end up being one of the most competitive in recent memory as there isn’t a clear betting favorite to win the Super Bowl. The Buffalo Bills are the betting favorite at +600, but that team still has plenty to prove in the postseason.
Two teams from the city of Los Angeles should be in the mix to win the title this season, as the Rams and Chargers are both loaded with talent. The Rams are the defending Super Bowl champions, and the Chargers are a team on the rise.
The Super Bowl odds for the Rams are at +1100 entering the season, and the Chargers are right behind them at +1400. For football fans that are dreaming of an all-LA Super Bowl, this could be the year that it finally happens.
The San Francisco 49ers are another team from the state that could be in the mix as well as they have betting odds set at +1600. San Francisco was in the NFC Championship Game a season ago, falling to the Rams en route to a Super Bowl win for Los Angeles.
These Super Bowl odds are going to change as the action unfolds, but all three California teams should remain among the betting favorites when the games start.
AFC West is Loaded
The Los Angeles Chargers are going to get plenty of tests throughout the regular season as they compete in the AFC West Division. That might be the best division in the NFL, as all four teams appear to be good enough to reach the playoffs.
The Kansas City Chiefs are the betting favorites to win the AFC West at +155, and the Los Angeles Chargers are right behind them at +240. The Denver Broncos (+260) and Las Vegas Raiders (+700) could both be in the mix as well.
Rams-49ers Set For Showdown
Life in the NFC West won’t be easy for the Rams either, with the biggest challenge coming from the San Francisco 49ers. Los Angeles is the betting favorite to win the division at +125, but the 49ers are right behind them at +175.
The Arizona Cardinals were in the playoffs a year ago, and they could be in the mix to win the NFC West at +350. Seattle appears to be the only team that doesn’t really have a chance to win the NFC West as they have odds set at +1500.
MVP Odds
Both the Rams and Chargers are led by quarterbacks that are among the best in the league, and this can be seen when looking at the odds to win the MVP Award. The MVP Award has turned into an award handed out to the best quarterback each year, and there are some great ones in the NFL.
Justin Herbert of the Chargers is pretty high up on the list at +900, and there are only three quarterbacks ahead of him. Herbert is the favorite at +650 to throw for the most passing yards during the 2022 season.
Matthew Stafford is a bit of an underdog at +1400, but he could play himself into the mix if he leads the Rams to another division title.
