Rams Set Training Camp Starting Date As July 30; Bounce-Back In 2020?

The Los Angeles Rams have announced that they will begin training camp for the 2020 NFL season on July 30. That’s less than two weeks away, meaning it’s almost time to start gearing up for the regular season.

Los Angeles enters the season looking to bounce back from a disappointing 2019 campaign that saw them miss the playoffs. The Rams were considered one of the top teams in football heading into the season, but things went awry in a hurry.

Downward Slide

los angeles ramsThe Rams were in the Super Bowl just two seasons ago, but their downward slide appeared to start in that game. Los Angeles failed to score a touchdown against the Patriots, and their offense never recovered in 2020.

Los Angeles still has plenty of talent on their roster, but they also have some work to do this season. Head coach Sean McVay is known as an offensive wizard, but opposing teams started to figure him out a season ago.

Todd Gurley is no longer with the team, and that takes away a great offensive player. Gurley was injured throughout the 2019 season, but it will still be weird to see him playing with a different team.

Quarterback Jared Goff will also be under a microscope this season, even though his stats were solid in 2019. The Rams need Goff to take the next step and emerge as a franchise quarterback if they want to make a return to the playoffs.

Rams fans are still confident in this team, and they are expecting a huge bounce-back season in 2020. That could very well be the case, but the division and schedule won’t make that an easy task.

Rams in Loaded NFC West

If the Rams are going to make a return to the playoffs, they will likely need at least nine wins during the 2020 season. FanDuel Sportsbook has set the over/under at 8.5 wins this season, which could be just about right.

Bets can also be placed on whether or not the Los Angeles Rams will make the playoffs in 2020. Currently, the “no” is listed as the favorite at -160, while the “yes” option is listed at +130.

Individual Awards

FanDuel believes in the Rams offense, and they have Jared Goff as the sixth-highest favorite to throw for the most passing yards this season. Goff will need to throw for more than 4,000 yards again if this team is going to have a bounce-back season.
